Help Columbus area pets find their new homes.
Need help re-homing your pet? Looking to add a furry new member to your family? Sometimes it might seem like your post is lost amidst everything else on Craigslist, or maybe you don't want your pet alone in the shelter without the guarantee of a new home.

The Columbus Adoption Network is an online project, started with the hopes of matching available pets with prospective adopters.

Follow the Columbus Adoption Network on twitter

and visit the blog for detailed information!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and please help spread the word even if you're not looking to re-home or adopt a pet at the moment.

New Orleans- You can help-
My roomie Dave Lewis is driving down to New Orleans on Saturday to help out. Dave and I are co-editors of the soon-to-be launched website "The Gonzo Press.com". We've both been watching coverage on television and are disgusted by how the media keeps a distance from people even when they are suffering. They ask questions then seem to move on without helping at all. To us, this is exploitation and not news coverage.

We're going to change that via Dave.

If anyone would like to contribute things for him to give away to the victims of hurricane Katrina it would be much appreciated. Bottled water, food, clothing, etc... imagine your house collapsed and you lost EVERYTHING- what would you need? Well that's what you should give-

We are always looking for actors. NO experience Necessary. The one thing is this is only for exposure there will be NO pay for being in these films at this time.

Right now I am looking for people to be in Slashers, Living Dead films. Remember these are short films. If you would like a script to look at to see what kind of films we do. Do. Please visit my website...

To everyone in Columbus!

There's a new restaurant opening in town!

The Paradise (formerly "The China Paradise") is a nice restaraunt with Chinese and American cuisine, located on Brice Road, right off of 70 E. They boast a Mardi Gras feel with two bars (the 'Ragon Bar, and the main bar shaped like the OSU "O"), a stage for live bands, as well as a karaoke night (still to be determined). Come join us for the Super Bowl, and dine while watching the Big Game on ten large TV's situated around the restaurant, along with a big screen on the stage for your viewing pleasure!

The Paradise opens its doors this Friday at 11, so please come and join us!

Feb. 14th for losers...I mean singles
If there isn't already something of the like, I'm thinking of putting together some sort of gathering for single people on Feb 14th.

Mostly, it'd just be a hang-out kinda thing, nothing terribly exciting.. Maybe take over the corner table(s?) of a diner or something, then a few cocktails.

Anybody up for that sort of thing?

Hello folks.
Hi, I've been a member of this community for sometime now, but I haven't been active in it at all. A problem I hope to rectify. I'm currently 26 and I've lived in the central Ohio region for 6 years now. I really like going to the theater, Gallery Hop, concerts and generally being active. In general I'm game for new experiances too. Let's see what else? Oh, you can call me Bren.

Random quote
We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?

Did anybody do anything fun today/Sunday? I was at The Silver Branch and then had dinners with friends at Shari's (the proprietor) house. We watched Van Helsing, which I knew was gonna suck and I wasn't dissapointed. I could do a better Romanian accent than Kate Beckinsale. Then again, I've actually worked with a girl from near Transylvania. I mean, whoddaheck!
10:53 pm
So, is this a good spot to post for people to go hang out with?

hey michelle. you already know me. :)
for everyone else, hello.

one thing i am looking for is a chilled out, high concept type of place (i.e. unique) to waste my money and time. it does not have to serve alcohol; i was just wondering if there were any gold nuggets of culture i'm missing out on....

tonight at larry's:

the hellbound truckers
some other band

if you haven't seen the hellbound truckers, you really haven't lived. these guys are just awesome. it's certainly one of those things that you want to see while you still draw breath.

the other band is composed mostly of former members of the brutes. supposedly, they've gone new wave. certainly should be interesting.

from what i heard, bands should be going on around 10/10:30.
